Privacy
laboro.uk aims to be a privacy-friendly service and abides by the following principles:
- Process the minimum data to provide the service.
- Minimise processing of data which could be used to identify an individual.
- Automatically delete data as soon as it is no longer required.
- Being transparent about what data we do collect and how it is processed.
- No selling of data to third parties.
We do process some data, such as IP addresses and names, which could be used to identify you or third parties.
Who we are
laboro.uk is run by Paul Waring, a freelancer PHP developer based in Manchester, UK. Paul is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller with reference: ZA352994.
Why we process your data
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing this information is: legitimate interest. We have chosen this basis because:
- Processing your data is the only way to provide the service.
- The private data (e.g. IP addresses) we process is necessary to help prevent abuse of the service.
We only use your data for the purpose of providing the service.
Log files
Each request to laboro.uk is logged, including the IP address used to make the request. Log files are automatically overwritten at least once every 30 days.
Data
Storage and processing locations
All data is stored on machines located within the United Kingdom and is processed there, however it may be accessed from anywhere in the world (e.g. if you login from abroad).
Sharing data
Any data you enter onto laboro.uk is private and is only available via logging in on your account.
As we have access to the underlying database, we can also see your data, however we do not routinely look at it unless investigating an issue (e.g. if you report data that is not displaying as expected).
We do not sell your data or share it with third parties. The only exception to this is if we are forced to disclose information due to a legal requirement (e.g. a court order).
Cookies
laboro.uk uses the following cookies:
PHPSESSID
: Used for security, such as CSRF protection.login
: Used to authenticate you on each request.
All of these cookies are necessary for the operation of the site and therefore we do not request consent with a cookie banner.
We do not set any third party cookies.
Third party data
laboro.uk does not use third party data. Everything used on the site (CSS, JavaScript etc.) is either loaded from our server or uses the native functionality in your browser.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual pieces of data (e.g. a client) at any time. You can also delete your account, which will automatically remove all the associated data.
Deletion takes place immediately and cannot be reversed.
